The oldest part of the business. Two flats on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, held since the early years and let on long leases to tenants who deal directly with the owner.
A managing agent is paid to collect rent. An owner is paid to keep the asset worth owning.
These are not investment units bought off plan and handed to a letting agency. They are flats the business chose, paid for and still holds, which is why maintenance gets done properly rather than deferred to the next financial year.
Both south coast residences are subject to long-term leases. As a lease comes to an end, each is assessed on its merits: renewed with the sitting tenant, re-let, or made available for short-term stays where the location supports it.
